BRIDAL SHOWER!

My sister Ayah is getting married soon and as a surprise to her I planned her bridal shower and invited her friends. It took place May 1st, two weeks before the wedding. The colour theme for the shower is pinks, white, and gray. Originally I was going to make it a Beauty and the Beast theme for her favourite Disney princess but it seems harder than a colour theme and I was on a budget. My sister Iman can over yesterday and did some baking, it took longer than expected to bake eclairs and cookies but they turned out beautiful.

Here are Iman's not so famous eclairs, they always turn out delicious! They didn't rise as much as we had hoped but they are still very tasty.

Just some beautifully decorated sugar cookies! It was messy but they turned out delicious and pretty!

This is my second attempt at making a cupcake dress cake, the first time was my sister Shatha's fifth birthday. This time I made my own cream cheese frosting instead of buying the tubs of vanilla icing I usually get from the store. The taste was much better although the cream cheese wasn't fully melted in the icing it was still pretty good for a first attempt at icing. For the bows I bought chocolate molds and chocolate pellets and just melted the chocolate in the microwave and put them in the molds.

The beautiful Malak and her auntie Shatha dressed in their adorable dresses for the party. They played in the playroom for most of the party and came out to eat. Such adorable little angels <3
A party is nothing without food! There was pizza, chicken nuggests, nachos, veges, cake, and more. The bride had her own special cup to drink with.

I asked that no one bring gifts because the shower was so close to the wedding. Instead I asked each person to bring a pair of underwear to play a game. That way each person provided a small inexpensive gift and we made a game out of it. We put all of the underwear in a gift bag and the bride would pull one out and try to guess who bought it for her. It was hilarious! They came in all shapes hahaha!

We played a few other games including who has the groom, ring hunt, Disney song match-up, what's in your purse, and guess how many jellybeans are in the jar. I also asked each of the girls to bring a recipe on it so we can give the bride a recipe box full of recipes! I went a little overboard a snipped out 10 recipes for her from a magazine, but the more the better! Overall we had a blast and laughed a lot! It was a fun change in schedule since we have been stressing over wedding details the last few week so it was really nice forgetting all of that for a day.

I hope you enjoyed this post, I cannot wait to post my next blog about the Wedding Day!

Toys for Toddlers

Toys can be a crucial part of a toddlers development of the brain and the senses. My daughter recently turned a year old and loves to play and explore everything around her. Books can be a great way to stimulate the mind, my daughter often brings books from her playroom and gives them to me to read to her. Pointing to the words as you read will help them follow along I've caught my girl pretending to read a few times and pointing as she babbles. Monkey see, monkey do 🙈. I love when she picks up on things that I do and it helps you see that your little one is on the right track.                                          Boxes that helps babies identify and experiment with different shapes and colours helps children as well. It builds problem solving skills, allows them to explore, and concentrate on the task at hand. The red toy with the shapes has an outline of the blocks in the same colour they appear, it's a great opportunity to teach colours as well! These electronic bo

Happy 4th Birthday Malak!

January 26, 2019 Another year has flown by yet again, I can't believe you are 4 already and starting school in September! Every day that passes you are getting smarter than the day before and the things you say sometimes are absolutely amazing. I love you to the moon Malak and hope this birthday was everything you hoped for and more. Having just entered into my 9th month of pregnancy I knew this party would be a bit of a challenge nonetheless I didn't want anything to get in the way of Malak's birthday (since she talks about it all year). Thank God everything came together beautifully and Malak was a happy camper. This year Malak chose a Pokemon themed birthday party. I thought that it would be simple as its so popular now (again). The thing with Pokemon items is that they are expensive! But that's never stopped me before, I enjoyed a lot of the DIY games put together and early planning to avoid disappointment. I ordered plates, loot bags, napkins, banners, straw

Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada

“Is this not a true autumn day? Just the still melancholy that I love – that makes life and nature harmonize.” – George Eliot Oct. 11, 2020 For all those that have not been to Niagara Falls in the season of Fall, it is a must see. Go and absorb all of nature's beauty, you won't regret it. The day was spent with the most important people in my life, my family. Just being in each other's company was a blessing in itself and to enjoy my favourite season in a magical place was absolute perfection. We started our drive in Niagara on the Lake, the colours encompassing the atmosphere were truly captivating. Reds, oranges, yellows, brown and green of all shades covering trees, grass, bushes and all of nature's delight. We saw people walking, barbequing, renting and riding bicycles, and just enjoying the day together. The real estate in Niagara on the Lake closer to the bodies of water are stunning! Almost every home had a balcony which is now on my wishlist, I might invest a pr
