2018 in Cupcakes

You read the title correctly: 2018 in Cupcakes!

Looking through my Instagram timelines and sliding through my phones pictures I noticed we made a bunch of cupcakes throughout the year. So what better way to go over 2018 then to go through all the pictures of cupcakes I found? Let's begin!

During Malak's 3rd Birthday party we all decorated cupcakes as one of the activities! The kids just piled on the toppings while the rest of us tried to make something cute hahah! Malak's birthday is on January 26th but we had her birthday part on the Sunday which was the 28th! We had so much fun at Malak's Paw Patrol themed party and I know Malak had a blast <3

More gorgeous cupcakes from Malak's birthday party with my nephew Karam staring intensely at them, all he wanted to do was grab one!
I know they aren't cupcakes but I had to document the gorgeous Canada Day donuts that I picked up after July 1st!

I made this a my nephew Karam's 1st birthday party! It was a Sesame Street themed party and we had a blast! Sis did a good job of organizing and hosting! Karam's birthday was on September 26 but his party was on the 30th! Love you Karam <3

I wasn't the only one who made a fabulous cupcake at Karam's birthday party, Malak made an even better one!

Malak and I whipped up a batch of Halloween cupcakes to help support LUSO Community Services' Fall Fest and Haunted House in the evening. All the proceeds went towards United Way so while Malak and I had time to bond we knew we were supporting a great cause in the process. The Fall Fest took place on October 27th so we dropped them off on the 26th!

Well Malak wanted to decorate her own monster cupcake too so she put together this adorable creature. She couldn't wait for me to take the picture hence the cute piece bitten out <3

On November 17th my sisters came over after I spent the morning at a breakfast with my best friend, we hadn't seen each other in months! We are committing to doing better with our get togethers and since we've done pretty well but we need to definitely keep it up in the New Year! Anyways after our breakfast at Cora's we headed over to the Family Centre where my friend works and Malak got to play in the playroom which is awesome! After that we bolted home and had my sisters come over where we baked and each decorated a cupcake.

On Christmas Eve my friend came over and we watched a bunch of Christmas/Holiday movies on Netflix and the day wouldn't have been complete without pigging out on pizza and wings andddd decorating cupcakes!

Now that is my year in cupcakes! I noticed most of the cupcakes were in the last few months and there was a big break in the year where I basically baked nothing.. I have enjoyed decorating cupcakes lately as my daughter and I have determined to limit her screen time on the iPad, but I believe that's another post coming!

I wish you all a fabulous New Year and need to run off now and compile my New Years Resolutions! Blog you later!

Trip to Sweden: Landskrona and Höganäs

It has been a while fellow bloggers since I just got back from my month long trip to Sweden! I shall be writing all about it in the next few blog post entries. My husband has three brothers who all live in Sweden and we were far overdue for a vacation anyways. Mind you this is the first time traveling with my husband in a plane and first time with kids of my own. I will be writing a post of traveling with kids on its own. Our flight was a direct flight from the Toronto airport to Copenhagen, Denmark. We were told it is faster to take a train from the airport in Copenhagen to Malmo then taking a plane to Stockholm, Sweden which would be at least a 6 hour drive from where my husband's brothers live! We arrived at around 10:20am. Upon our arrival to the airport we picked up our bags, bought a ticket for the train, and jumped on the train. Booking and board the train took the most time for us. The train took less than 15 minutes from where we were to get us to our first stop which wa...

The Working from Home Age

My latest update is that on April 1st was official day as per my contract as a Settlement Counsellor with Northwest London Resource Centre! For those who don't know it is a step up from my previous job as a Library Settlement Worker. The hours are better for me now, before I was working evenings and Saturdays but for this job I will have the option of working 8:30-4:30 pm or let's say I want to drive my daughter to school and then go to work I can do a 9:30-5:30 pm. The flexibility on their end is fabulous and I really appreciated having the option. So, obviously now things are a little different being in the COVID-19 age of having all non-essential places shut down we were deemed a non-essential service. Now we are working from home! My husband made an excellent observation about me and said if thing were different and you had the option to be working from home or being in the office I think you would choose to work from home. I think once upon a time I would've agreed ...

Ramadan 2020: Preparations and Resources

Just under a month to go for Ramadan 2020! This year I have put together a nice '30 Days of Kindness' Calendar for Ramadan for children with the help of parents/guardians to follow earn some good deeds this Ramadan. Please feel free to pull and print off and if you would like an emailed PDF version just contact me and I would be more than happy to send it. I printed many copies and will be delivering to friends and family with children that I think would like to do this.   In the past I have tried to do a more festive Ramadan month to put some Barakah back into the month and have it be a joyous occasion for all. It is especially important for children because it helps instill that love of the month for them from a young age. Especially growing up and seeing the temptations of other Holidays and wondering why we don't do anything fun for Ramadan or Eid? Simple decorations and preparations like hanging some lights up across the window, lanterns placed around the...
