On the morning of my birthday my husband woke me up with a surprise to take us to the Toronto Zoo! I was totally excited I've never been before and it was a chance for us to spend the day together as a family. We packed up and left we were on the road by 9 and got to the zoo at about 11:30. On our way there Malak was pretty good until she got tired at about 11 that's when she got restless and put us through about 15 minutes of crying and whining until she fell asleep. The weather was beautiful outside it was about 21 degrees and the nicest part about going at this time was it wasn't as busy as it is in mid-summer. There was a lot of people but not nearly as much as the busy days so I considered myself lucky. I was most excited to see the pandas and the penguins.
The pandas were the first things we saw since it was the only place with a line-up to see. A
fter that we proceeded to walk throughout the zoo! I suggest if you go to the Toronto zoo do not pick a really hot day to go since there will be a lot of walking! I'm happy I got my exercise for the day and there was a nice breeze. It took us about 5 hours to get through the entire park, we rid the safari bus after as well. There are so many different animals it is just mesmerizing! There are pavilions set up for different countries that include animals inside made like their habitats and with tons of information on posters. I made time at the end to buy myself a keychain that says Toronto Zoo on it, its my goal to have a keychain collection with the names of the places I visit in Canada :)

Zebras are one of my favourite animals because of their patterns. |

Malak enjoying her delicious food!
You can see Mohamad sure loves his shrimp! |
After the zoo my husband treated me to a nice buffet style dinner in Brampton in a place called Wok of Fame and apparently you eat free on your birthday! Malak eats free too so I consider that a win for us! We ran into Ayah and Samer who were honeymooning in Toronto it was such a nice surprise finding them there! The restaurant has a wide selection of already prepared dishes or raw foods you put together in a plate and can have prepared right in front of your with your selection of sauces. It is a beautiful restaurant and we were stuffed by the end. Even drinks are included in the buffet and you can refill as many times as you like.
I had so much fun and when we got home we were exhausted! Malak slept like a log and napped twice the next day! I'm glad she enjoyed her freedom walking around and pointing to flowers at the zoo hahaha! Thank you Mohamad for a beautiful day. Nothing beats spending the day with family <3
