LittleBabyBum on Youtube

I just want to tell other mommies about this great channel on YouTube! It includes every nursery rhyme I knew growing up and I even learned a few new ones watching with my daughter. They come in individual videos or a compilation of videos amounting to different times. Like there are videos 15 minutes long or even 2 hours depending on how occupied you want your child to be. I know some parents will be opposed to putting their baby in front of a TV or computer screen but my daughter loves them and she is learning from them.

When the song for If You're Happy and You Know It comes on she does the actions with them like clapping her hands and stomping her feet. When the song BINGO comes up she claps for the letters the eliminate and follows along with them. When Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes comes on she points to her head. Not only is she learning important things because of the songs but she looks forward to me putting it on for her and sometimes we sit and practice them together.

I do love this channel and I recommend it especially to younger children.
You can see on the YouTube page how they have playlists ready for you to play or just pick a compilation. There are lots of educational songs teaching the alphabet, colours, numbers, and body parts.
Here is what the channel looks like when you enter the page. Fun, colourful, and educational I really do love this page!

Trip to Sweden: Landskrona and Höganäs

It has been a while fellow bloggers since I just got back from my month long trip to Sweden! I shall be writing all about it in the next few blog post entries. My husband has three brothers who all live in Sweden and we were far overdue for a vacation anyways. Mind you this is the first time traveling with my husband in a plane and first time with kids of my own. I will be writing a post of traveling with kids on its own. Our flight was a direct flight from the Toronto airport to Copenhagen, Denmark. We were told it is faster to take a train from the airport in Copenhagen to Malmo then taking a plane to Stockholm, Sweden which would be at least a 6 hour drive from where my husband's brothers live! We arrived at around 10:20am. Upon our arrival to the airport we picked up our bags, bought a ticket for the train, and jumped on the train. Booking and board the train took the most time for us. The train took less than 15 minutes from where we were to get us to our first stop which wa...

The Working from Home Age

My latest update is that on April 1st was official day as per my contract as a Settlement Counsellor with Northwest London Resource Centre! For those who don't know it is a step up from my previous job as a Library Settlement Worker. The hours are better for me now, before I was working evenings and Saturdays but for this job I will have the option of working 8:30-4:30 pm or let's say I want to drive my daughter to school and then go to work I can do a 9:30-5:30 pm. The flexibility on their end is fabulous and I really appreciated having the option. So, obviously now things are a little different being in the COVID-19 age of having all non-essential places shut down we were deemed a non-essential service. Now we are working from home! My husband made an excellent observation about me and said if thing were different and you had the option to be working from home or being in the office I think you would choose to work from home. I think once upon a time I would've agreed ...

Ramadan 2020: Preparations and Resources

Just under a month to go for Ramadan 2020! This year I have put together a nice '30 Days of Kindness' Calendar for Ramadan for children with the help of parents/guardians to follow earn some good deeds this Ramadan. Please feel free to pull and print off and if you would like an emailed PDF version just contact me and I would be more than happy to send it. I printed many copies and will be delivering to friends and family with children that I think would like to do this.   In the past I have tried to do a more festive Ramadan month to put some Barakah back into the month and have it be a joyous occasion for all. It is especially important for children because it helps instill that love of the month for them from a young age. Especially growing up and seeing the temptations of other Holidays and wondering why we don't do anything fun for Ramadan or Eid? Simple decorations and preparations like hanging some lights up across the window, lanterns placed around the...
